So… let me just start out by saying, Kerry Washington is INCREDIBLE at playing the side piece because… she is EVERYTHING in this video. LOL
But anyway, this song – Maxwell vibes period – have been giving me all the writer feels lately. So I’ll be turning on the BLACKsummers’night album this week to give me the sexy ambience I’m looking for with this next project.

This past weekend was INCREDIBLY exciting as, The Real Deal reached number 9 on the bestsellers chart for African-American Women’s Fiction. I am soooo grateful for everyone that’s checked it out, left reviews and ratings, spread the word, etc.
BUT today is even more exciting for other reasons as it represents ONE WHOLE YEAR since Attractions & Distractions: Sophomore Year was released!
Time has flown by, but that book – my second book baby – will always hold a special place in my heart.
So today, we celebrate with this Song of the Week. 🙂

I’m charging into the week with new energy now that my February release, The Real Deal, is finally out! But… of course there’s always more work to be done, especially when characters have been patiently waiting for their turn.

How can I teach children to dream if I’m not following my own?
How can I tell children they can be whatever they want to be if I’m not living to what I believe is my full potential?
How can I give my all to children who need that and more, when I’m not really sure of my own purpose?
Those are all questions that came to mind when I decided not to return to the field of teaching early childhood education.
