This song has pretty much been in my head since Friday after I got to sing it at the top of my lungs while driving from Omaha back to Houston (and lowkey lost my voice because of it lol).
But anyway!
As I listened to it that day and then last night on repeat, I realized a couple of things.
One: We NEED some new Elle Varner music!
Two: This song is the PERFECT base for my next book.

I’m hardly EVER a fan of remakes.
(even though some songs are probably remakes of super old songs I’ve never heard of… for the purpose of this post, let’s skip that fact lol)
Like… how dare you touch my favorite songs?
How dare you touch the classics?
But this one in particular… I don’t know. I’m not mad at it.
It has a nice vibe to it, and T-Boz is actually on it which maybe makes up for the fact that its a remake.

So talking to bae one day (shoutout to bae by the way), I found myself using “have to” to a lot. You “have to” do this. This isn’t a want to, this is a “have to”. And no I wasn’t only scolding him about having to put his clothes away, or something like that. We were actually discussing how the “have to” method is more of a mindset needed for personal development.
We all have things we don’t want to do, things we know won’t stop the world if they aren’t accomplished, but what would happen if you turned those want to’s – and don’t wan’t to’s – into “have to’s”?
